They have different colored beaks as far as I know, too..ravens are black..crows are greyish or yellowish..
I heard and saw Common Ravens
I heard and saw Common Ravens all the time when I worked in Yosemite Valley back in '09. I will never confuse Ravens and Crows after that summer!

Very interesting article. I remember my husband bringing a baby home that fell from a nest. We raised it until it was able to fly free. Funny it never left. Became very friendly & would let us know it wanted to be fed everyday by stopping by our bedroom window waking us up. That bird would follow me all around my yard as I worked in the garden. One day, sadly our lab, who was just wanting to play ended it's life.......they are truly amazing birds!!!
Crows/Ravens
I saw a documentary on crows and it was said that they are as smart as a 2 year old child. Are ravens as smart as crows?

In Athol MA , where Ravens returned a couple decades ago, in the Bearsden protected region they share the area with crow. crows have learned to mimic Ravens so well that novice attempts to separate sounds does not work.

When Ravens fly over they
When Ravens fly over they make a distinct call: KaLuuk, KaLuuk. Can't mistake it for any other. Usually in pairs. I've never seen a Mob of Ravens. Just Crows.
