Audubon- The World’s Priciest Book

If you have a few million dollors burning a hole in your pocket, have we gotta book for you!

According to this BBC article, Sotheby's is auctioning an original copy of John James Audubon's Birds of America, which previously went for $8.8 million dollars:

"Only 119 complete copies of the 19th-century book are known to exist, and 108 are owned by museums and libraries."

Of course, if you're like us and you don't actually have millions to spend on a book (as beautiful as this one is), you can also see all of the illustrations for free at the Audubon site's Birds of America section.  Your friends might not be as impressed but it'll save you some big money in these tough economic times!
