Most people equate Israel with Middle Eastern politics, strong religious ties, and war. But as Features Editor Rene Ebersole found out when she traveled to this New Jersey-sized country, it’s teeming with nature and wildlife, including 540 species of birds, and lies in a crucial flyway that sees 500 million birds every spring and fall during migration.
