For the past decade, Audubon New York has honored individuals who have taken on the conservation plight and advanced the cause. “The award's namesake, Thomas W. Keesee, Jr., spent his lifetime committed to the environment; his support of Audubon helped to ensure that future generations can live healthy lives in a sustainable environment,” states an Audubon press release about the award.

Former Audubon president John Flicker joins the ranks of an ex-governor, state and city parks commissioners, and others in earning this award and being recognized for his work to better the environment.
