So many birds, so many

So many birds, so many spirits to express. Pen and paper hardly do them justice, but I'd like to try:)

I am have been an artist all

I am have been an artist all my adult life, working mainly with pastels although also with oils, and my favourite subject, apart from human portraits, has always been birds. I took a few years out to bring up my children, but had recently taken it up again and was pleased to find that I had not lost all my skills in the interim. Then, two and a half years ago, I collapsed with a sudden severe brain haemorrhage. As you can see, I survived! But I was left wheelchair-bound and blind. After much physio I can walk again, and after 3 eye operations - one more to go - my sight is almost restored. My greatest ambition, when I have had the final operation in the next couple of months, is to take up drawing and painting again, and to win this book would be the most wonderful motivation!

Anything to get my drawings

Anything to get my drawings to look more like birds and less like mutant muppets!

I hadn't really paid much

I hadn't really paid much attention to where my love of birding started until reading your forward. As a child my mother enrolled me in drawing classes (around age 7) and my first lesson was an American Goldfinch done in charcoal and pastels. My own daughter is now 7 and wants to start a life list. We have negotiated a deal where I will attempt to draw the birds in a journal and she will detail its sighting. Would love to have her draw them with me!

I would love to get a copy of this book. I'm both an artist and a bird-lover.

This is just wonderful! I

This is just wonderful! I have such a great respect for birds - I think that their evolutionary adaptations alone are some of the most impressive and awe-inspiring in the entire animal kingdom. Humans as a whole have definitely taken them for granted. As an artist myself, I have done some drawings of these beautiful animals but could definitely benefit from some technical tips that this guide offers! I'd love to win a copy and if not I may just have to purchase one!! Thanks!
